Alpha

Alpha gives everyone the chance to explore the Christian faith, ask questions and share their point of view.

Every evening begins with a meal together, then we watch a video exploring an area of faith, followed by a chance to chat, discuss or just listen to what others have to say.

There's no pressure and no cost, just a chance to explore life, faith and meaning.

To find out more about Alpha and get a taste of what it's all about, you can watch Bear Grylls' story here: Alpha

ALPHA AT WICK HALL

Alpha will be running at Wick Hall (back hall), from Wednesday 3rd May at 7.30pm for 10 weeks.

We'd love to know if you're coming or if we can answer any questions. Please use the contact form to get in touch. If you have any dietary requirements we can cater for that too, so please just let us know.

WHAT IS ALPHA?

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone's welcome. It runs in cafés, churches, universities, homes—you name it. No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: food, a talk and good conversation.

WHAT HAPPENS AT ALPHA?

Food - Food has a way of bringing people together and so our sessions start with a meal as it's a great way to get to know each other.

Talk - The talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. They explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions from Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith? to Why and how do I pray? and How does God guide us?

Discussion - Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group. There's no obligation to say anything and there's nothing you can't say (seriously). It's an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
